The Catholic Church is not as sensitive to immediate economic fluctuations as other businesses or industries. However, Catholic entities choose to pay taxes into the State Unemployment System. Christian Brothers Unemployment Reimbursement Program was organized to give back to Catholic institutions as the taxes paid were greater than the benefits received.
